Concrete Slab
Slab is a structural element made of a
concrete used to create flat surfaces like ceiling, roof decks, floors etc. It
is also prefabricated to the off-site and then placed to the construction site
where it has to be placed and poured. It is supported by beams, columns, walls
and ground.There are many types of slabs.
Flat
Slab
This type of reinforced slab is easily
constructed and supported by column without the use of beams.
Conventional
Slab
In this type of Slab, it is supported by both
beam and column. There are two types of conventional slab. One way slab and Two
way Slab. In one way slab, slab is supported by beam from the two sides. In two
way slab, it is supported by beam from all four sides.
Hollow core ribbed Slab
It runs through the units and reduced
self-weight and maximize structural efficiency. They function as a service duct
and used for office buildings, multi-storey car parking.
Solid slab raft
Where it’s not possible to put columns at a
regular interval throughout the building, this type of slab is used. This is
used for small building.
Composite
Slab
This slab is made of using profile steel
sheeting. This is capable of handling the weight of wet concrete.
